Rich deep dark berry color with creamy mocha espresso flavors is the first impression of this wine. The tannins are well integrated with the fruit and create a long finish that keeps going. It’s full bodied with a saturated finish while accompanied by bright acidity and infused by black current and cooked blueberries fruit. Balanced and intense, it showcases what Bordeaux varieties can perform when managed correctly. Wine Advocate (Jeb Dunnuck): "The Daou brothers continue to focus on Bordeaux varieties from their estate located high up off of Peachy Canyon Road. (One of the highest spots in the appellation, the micro-climate of this estate has more in common with Napa Valley than Paso Robles.) Across the board, these wines show fantastic purity of fruit, excellent concentration, and rich, textured personalities that never seem heavy or over-the-top. These are highly recommended and show the quality that’s possible from Bordeaux varieties in Paso Robles."
